BusinessCurious.gay Profiles LGBTQ Entrepreneurs
BusinessCurious.gay tells stories of LGBTQ entrepreneurs who aren’t afraid to get out there and make their own way.
Business Curious is a podcast hosted by queer business owner Scott Shigeoka (they/them/he/his). The podcast’s mission: search the country for stories of LGBTQ entrepreneurs who defy traditions, get creative, and thrive — no matter what. Every episode dives deep into the challenges they faced, the successes they’ve enjoyed, and the businesses they’ve built.
As GoDaddy's entrepreneur in residence, Scott advocates for more equity and inclusion in the field of entrepreneurship, while highlighting the challenges and successes of everyday entrepreneurs across the country. Scott’s work focuses on bridging social and political divides, and has been featured in The New York Times, Fast Company and Inc magazine. Scott also hosts Made in America, previously worked at IDEO and The Washington Post, and co-founded two social enterprises in the U.S. and Europe.
Guests on Business Curious have included Nik Kacy, founder of the gender-free Nik Kacy Footwear brand, Ava Pippitone of Host Home Inc and Suyana Technologies, Nick Yeast of the Nick Ricardo Collection of gender-neutral fragrances, and Suhaly Bautista-Carolina, a community organzier and founder of Moon Mother Apothecary.
