DotGay-est Moments of 2025

Well, friends? It’s that time again! Join us in circling back to some of our favorite moments of the past 12 months.

We are proud to present 2025: The DotGay(est) Year!

1. GLAAD Media Awards Activation

.gay domains hit the red carpet for Hollywood’s gayest night! We love GLAAD and are so proud to support their work through ours. This year we activated the GLAAD Media Awards in person once again, as well as through the official event program and official afterparty. You can still watch the big show on Hulu!

2. Emmys.gay site launch

Speaking of televised awards shows, we celebrated the launch of the gayest thing the Television Academy has ever done: The launch of their .gay domain, a stellar redirect that highlights LGBTQIA+ television and Pride at the EMMYs

3. Superheroes Community Storytelling campaign

We asked the .gay domains community to share who their LGBTQIA+ superheroes are, and the results were very moving! Thank you to everyone who participated.

4. DearYoungerMe.gay site launch

This .gay community member has created a space where gay dads in various stages of coming out share heartfelt letters to their younger selves. These letters offer wisdom, solace, and understanding, lighting the way for those still navigating their identities and the complexities of embracing their true selves amid life's challenges. We think this .gay use case is very sweet!

5. Queer Country Pride with Fancy Hagood and She Returns From War

We had a blast putting the YEE-HAW back into Pride season with out and proud country music stars Fancy Hagood and She Returns From War. What a show!

6. Baby.gay site launch

BabyGay is a 501(c)3 Queer and Ally community organization celebrating the coming out process through storytelling, advocacy & togetherness. We love everything about this!

7. National Coming Out Week Video Campaign

This year we produced a week-long video series with LGBTQIA+ luminaries and .gay site owners, focused on the importance of coming out and why visibility matters. Featuring BLCKSMTH (Michael James Schneider — Balloon Guy!!), Glitterfox, Swaim Strategies, Logan Lynn, Mawlee Jones, Isaiah Esquire, Johnny Nuriel,

8. SmallKims.gay site launch

Your one-stop-shop for Queer Pride and body positivity goodies! Featuring artwork designed to help marginalized people feel seen, loved, and appreciated.

9. Portland Pride Festival in-person Takeover

This year .gay domains took over the Portland Pride festival, activating PDX Pride with our Gay is Good buttons while interviewing attendees and performing talent about what Pride means to them.

10. Lancaster.gay site launch

This directory helps Queer and Trans people in the United Kingdom find groups of people like themselves, and events where they can be safe and feel included. You can also find non-profits working in Lancaster, UK alongside local, independent businesses to support.

11. gay Annual Donation

Since the domain first launched, .gay has donated 20% of all new registration revenue to vital LGBTQIA+ community organizations. This year we donated over $15,000, bringing the total donated to $210,218.37!

12. QVA.gay launch

The University of Virginia’s Queer Alumni Network (QVA), envisions a diverse and inclusive University community that is the best possible environment for all LGBTQ+ students, alumni, faculty, and staff to study, work, and thrive. One of our all-time favorite redirects! This is a great way to use .gay domains for your school or organization.

13. gay LGBTQIA+ Visibility Campaign (featuring influencers)

This year as part of our Pride campaign, we partnered with LGBTQIA+ influencers to help us celebrate! Thank you to Terrance Williams, Zoe Stoller, The D’Angelos, and all of the other creators who joined us this year.

14. ItHasPockets.gay launch

One of our favorite redirect use cases this year, clothing company Nerdy Keppie wants you to know their dresses have pockets (and are gay!)

15. The Library Official Re-Watch Weekly Parties

We had so much fun re-watching .gay’s Revry TV series with you all every Saturday this year. If you missed it, head over to our Instagram now to get caught up!
