Tell us about who you are and what you do!

Psychic Cactus is a new clothing company that designs for the queer community. We don't use logos on our clothing, because who really wants to be branded all the time?

We also donate 10% of all profits each month to a non-profit that focuses on social justice, environmentalism, queer communities, and other progressive movements. Throughout the rest of May and June PsychicCactus.gay is donating to AIDS Walk Austin.

What are your biggest artistic inspirations and influences?

We are inspired by bold colors, bold people, and bold action. People like Logan Lynn, Alok Vaid-Menon, Zebra Katz, and Madame Gandhi to name just a few. 😉

Why did you choose a .gay domain for your website? Why motivates you to be proudly and visibly LGBTQIA+ as an artist and designer?

Being who you are and loving every facet of yourself is hard to do for some people. Standing up and claiming your space in the world gives voice to others who may not be ready to do all of that just yet. Maybe someone who buys a piece of clothing will feel more empowered to be their own unique person, knowing they are a part of a community that supports who they are. At least that's our hope. 💟

Why is it important to help create a safer internet for LGBTQIA+ people?

We all need a safe place to exist. The internet for all its strengths still has a lot of growing to do. Having a .gay domain is the first step in creating a digital space where people know they are safe. Where discourse, commerce, and entertainment can be shared and viewed with the knowledge that the people and companies behind those moments are doing their part to really change things. 💻
