.gay team-member by day and DJ by night, Portland-based spinner The Prey has launched Nineties.gay, a digital home for his Gay Nineties throwback party. Dedicated to all the classic house music anthems that defined LGBTQIA+ dance floors in the 1990s, this all-vinyl affair packed local clubs (in pre-COVID times) with O.G. house music fans reliving those halcyon days as well as younger generations experiencing the music in a club for the first time.
“Nightlife is an important element of contemporary and historical LGBTQIA+ culture, and with COVID-19 closing down all events for the foreseeable future, I’m so excited for the opportunity to give the Gay Nineties a home online,” said The Prey. “Most of all, I’m so grateful to be a part of the amazing team at .gay, working together to make .gay as safe and inclusive as it can be for the entire intersectional spectrum of LGBTQIA+ identities.”
